Dallas Everleth, studio owner, teaches Pilates-based work and private yoga sessions at Center Strength, as well as offering
scar tissue regeneration and other hands-on work. Dallas has been teaching
Pilates for five years and was certified by the original Pilates Institute in Santa Fe.
Dallas is a Certified Yoga Instructor who has worked in the fields
of movement and bodywork in the Bay Area since 1988.
Leia Ambra MS,PT,MTC
Leia Ambra is a licensed physical therapist with over sixteen years experience in
treating orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric injuries and dysfunctions. Leia's manual
physical therapy work includes osteopathic mobilization in which the entire body
is screened. The treatment is then directed at the areas of greatest restriction which
may be at a distance from the area of current symptoms. Leia enjoys working with complex,
multiple symptom clients.
Leia graduated cum
laude in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 1982, cum laude in
the specialization of Manual Therapy from the institute of Graduate Physical
Therapy in 1987, and cum laude in Kinesiology from the California State University at
Hayward in 1992. Other extensive postgraduate training in her field has included course-
work with Dr. Edward Stiles. She is currently in private practice and has offices in Berkeley and Albany.
Vivian Goo, PT
Vivian Goo graduated in 1984 with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of
Puget Sound and over 18 years of Physical Therapy experience. She prefers the focused, individual treatements after working a variety of settings
in the Bay Area including acute care, skilled nursing facilities,
rehabilitation, sports clinics, and private practice outpatient clinics.
She completed the four year Feldendrais Method Professional Training Program in 1993
to compliment her love of dance and movement arts. Continuing education classes include spinal and extremity mobilization, pelvic girdle
assessment and treatment, adult stroke rehabilitation, treatment of
upper extremity strain injuries, mobilization of the nervous system
and a introduction to Craniosacral therapy.
Her special interest is hands-on treatment, specifically
focused to each person's individual needs, and incorporating functional movement patterns
to help improve each person's daily activities.
Heather Rafferty
Heather Rafferty began studying Pilates in 1996 at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance in London
with Susanne Lahusen. In 1999 she began the teacher training program in Seattle, WA with
Jane Erskine through the Physicalmind Instute and shortly after began teaching Pilates based conditioning
to the Pacific Northwest Ballet company and school. Since moving to California she has
studied Pilates based techniques for injury prevention and rehabilitation with Nora St. John and has been
a guest lecturer back at Pacific Northwest Ballet for dance injury and rehab technique.
Heather hold a BFA in dance from Cornish College of Art and has danced professionally
in Seattle and San Francisco since 1998.
Celina Atkinson
Celina Atkinson received her pilates certification from Stacy DOnnelly at the The Studio
in San Francisco in 1999 after studying with her for 4.5 years. She
came to pilates with a background in yoga, dance and competative tennis. She recently completed training for
injury preventation and rehabilitation with Nora St. John at Turning Points Studio. She
has continuing education in pPilates, personal training, nutrition, Active Isolated Stretching and
various other stretching modalities from Jorg Chabowski at The
Working Body in Oakland. She received yoga teacher certification in 1993 from
Sivanando Yoga Vedanta Center International.
Karisa Kenyon
Karisa Kenyon began studying Pilates as part of Physical Therapy for
Repetative Stress injuries. After having noticable results, she completed
her Pilates instructor training with Nora St. John. Karisa studied Swedish
and Cranial-Sacral Massage at The Heartwood Institute.
Jennifer Lee
Jennifer Lee has been involved in learning through the Feldenkrais Method for ten years
after she used the method to recover from a severley debilitating auto injury.
Jennifer has trained with master teachers of the Method including Mia Segal, Elizabeth
Beringer, and David Zemach-Bersin. She graduated from a four year, 800 hour
Feldenkrais Professional Training Program in 1997. She maintains a private
practice and works in physical therapy/ rehabilitation clinics. Jennifer also offers
Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes in several East Bay communities.
Sara Bolton
Sarah Bolton has been studying Pilates since 1998. She began her training with Susan McLain
and Karin Clipinger at Long Beach State University where she graduated with a
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. After graduating, she apprenticed with Carol Amend for
three months learning the AIM (Amend Integrated Model) approach to teaching Pilates.
Sarah has now completed Turning Point Studios Mat and Apparatus Certification courses. Besides
Pilates, Sarah holds a certificate as a Personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and
the Linda Evans Fitness Centers Univerity.
Sarah's movement background includes Ballet, Modern, Contact Improvisation, Jazz,
Tap, Hip-Hop, Yoga, Salsa, Swing and Dance Theater. She has taught
dance, worked a ropes course for three years and worked as a rock climbing instructor.
